in no way do i want to put down how hard you work for us. you ve been amazing, but what happened to playing poker for fun. what about people that dont play for ranking? people like me cant play with our friends anymore! like i cant ever play with flyingpenguins...just because he plays at the big tables. i dont think its too big a deal, but it would be really nice if you would create a 1000-2000 blind tables again and not have a min buy in. if you would make one or maybe 2 that would clear up all the all inners that have ruined the small tables. all people do at the small tables is go all in, and they do it so they can play at the big tables like they used to. i dont think its fair that the people that want used to play at the small tables cant do that anymore because af the all inners.
im not trying to complain ryan, im just wanting you to see how messed up things have gotten. i dont want all the min buy in tables gone or anything. just 1 or 2 no min buy in high buy in tables. please just consider it |

at 11:08 AM, Monday June 18, 2007 EDT Yeah i know what you're talking about. The table limits where put in to have better poker being played at the higher tables. But i can see how it would not be great for playing with friends.
I know gpokr is a balance of competition and socializing and will do more work on the socializing end of things in the future. However, I can't do everything immediatly. I'm planning on having private or custom tables to address this concern. |

You say : "will do more work on the socializing end", well, glad to hear (read, on this case). But it's YOU who totally broke down the "friends aspect" of this site ! (i.e. by limiting the number of "viewable" friends to the first 10 in the profile page..) You speak about a "balance of competition and socializing", i agree on that objective, but u can't say Gpokr IS SUCH nowadays. Now, it's almost only competition, ppls don't speak anymore on tables (there are fortunately exceptions...), and there are fewer and fewer "friends" (why adding a friend i can't see on my profile ?). |

at 3:04 PM, Wednesday June 20, 2007 EDT @gratjim: I can't claim that its a perfect balance at this point. I have lots of work to do to get there. But more important than a balance is the site performance. I had to limit quite a few things on this side of the site to improve the performance of gameplay.... and I took down many statistics(competitive), before touching the forums or friends lists, (social).
Taking things down isn't the ideal solution, but i WILL get them back up. |
